There is no GP referral, no long wait, and free patient parking on the door - most travellers are seen the same week, often at short notice.

- Southeast Asia (Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia) - Hepatitis A and Typhoid for most trips; consider Hepatitis B, Rabies and Japanese Encephalitis for longer or rural routes. Dengue is endemic, so bite avoidance matters.
- India, Pakistan & Sri Lanka - Hepatitis A and Typhoid; consider Hepatitis B, Rabies and a Tetanus/Diphtheria/Polio booster; Japanese Encephalitis for rural stays in the monsoon.

- South & Central America - Hepatitis A and Typhoid; Yellow Fever for parts of the Amazon basin; consider Rabies for remote travel.
- Saudi Arabia (Hajj / Umrah) - Meningitis ACWY is mandatory for the visa; Hepatitis A, Typhoid and seasonal flu are recommended.
Hajj and Umrah vaccinations
The Saudi Ministry of Health requires all pilgrims aged 1 and over to hold a valid Meningitis ACWY certificate at the point of visa application, given at least 10 days before arrival and within the last 5 years. We administer Menveo and issue the certificate the same visit, and recommend Hepatitis A, Typhoid and seasonal flu because of food, water and crowd exposure during the pilgrimage.
Yellow Fever advice
If your trip needs a Yellow Fever vaccination and ICVP certificate, which covers much of sub-Saharan Africa and parts of South America, we will assess your risk and point you to a registered Yellow Fever centre for the certificate itself. Brighton Clinics is not currently a registered NaTHNaC Yellow Fever centre, so this is advice only.
NHS vs private routes
The NHS funds some travel vaccines free at GP surgeries for eligible destinations - the combined Tetanus/Diphtheria/Polio booster, Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Cholera and MMR. Rabies, Hepatitis B for tourism, Japanese Encephalitis and Meningitis ACWY for tourism including Hajj are private nationwide. If you have time, ask your GP about the NHS-funded ones first; for everything else, last-minute trips, or appointments outside surgery hours, we routinely vaccinate same-week, often at short notice.
Getting to the clinic from Brighton
From the city centre, head north on the Lewes Road (A270) towards Falmer for about ten minutes, then turn right onto Coldean Lane for Beatty Avenue; Brighton Clinics is at Coldean Pharmacy, 16 Beatty Avenue, BN1 9ED. Coming off the A27 Brighton bypass, leave at the Coldean and Moulsecoomb junction. Buses along the Lewes Road stop a short walk away, and there is free patient parking on-site.

Meningitis ACWY (Menveo) is mandatory for the Saudi Arabia visa and must have been given within the last 5 years. We administer it and issue the certificate the same visit. Hepatitis A, Typhoid and seasonal flu are also strongly recommended depending on your itinerary.
Ideally 4 to 6 weeks before travel, especially for vaccines that need multiple doses such as Rabies or Japanese Encephalitis. For Hajj jabs and most single-dose vaccines, same-week appointments are fine. Even at short notice most travel vaccines still provide useful protection.
It depends on where you are going, how long, what activities, your age and medical history. We do not sell a generic package, every recommendation is based on your specific itinerary against current NaTHNaC guidance. The pre-travel consultation is included in your appointment.
We assess your Yellow Fever risk and advise you on it, but Brighton Clinics is not currently a registered NaTHNaC Yellow Fever centre, so we direct you to a registered centre where the vaccine and ICVP certificate are required. Ask us and we will point you to the nearest one.
